A message from Rev Andy about his retirement

“I know there has been some speculation about how long I will be remaining in the benefice, so I thought I would share our plans with you.
I will qualify for my clergy pension in March 2027 and, after considering our family arrangements, Julie and I have decided that September 2027 will be the right time for me to retire. I have therefore given the diocese notice of my retirement, effective from 1st September 2027.
My final service will probably be sometime in August 2027, giving us time to downsize, pack and move. We have reserved a clergy retirement property in Headington, Oxford, which will be refurbished before we move in.
It’s never easy to leave somewhere that has felt so much like home. I am deeply thankful for the kindness, support and generosity that we have received from so many people across our villages.
My commitment to our churches and communities remains as strong as ever, and I certainly won’t be ‘winding down’ just yet!
Every Blessing,
Andy”
