Thought for the Day 16th July 2020

Today’s thought in our series about rest, sleep and the Psalms

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.             Psalm 91:1

“Dwelling  in the shelter of God “ evolved from Psalm 46, whence in turn came the hymn “God is our strength and refuge”, which is sung to the stirring tune of the Dambusters March. It’s well worth reading the words of this uplifting hymn.

Our God shields all who dwell with Him. In his constant care and protection, we will find rest  from the chaos and confusion of the world – like the current restrictions in the lockdown.    It is good to push away the cares of the day  and meditate on God’s presence, power, and protection.
